Dealing with unsuccessful candidates for a job is one of the least favorite parts of the hiring process. How your business deals with job applicants directly correlates to your reputation in the industry. If you want to maintain good relations within your industry, you must have a plan to manage the dozens, if not hundreds of job applicants that aren't hired. Dealing with job candidates When you post a job, you're likely to get to many more applicants than you realized. Handling hundreds of applications can be overwhelming. As you narrow down applicants, you may want to toss their resumes in your trash bin. Don't do that. Use an applicant database with a tracking system, like Recruitee, to respond to everyone that you received their resume. Once you parse their resumes to see who is a good fit and who isn't, you can send a quick email explaining that they aren't a good fit for the position.
Keep accurate financial records. Create publicity to promote the various schemes. Provide information amongst the various groups and organisations. Write reports on projects. Liaise with local communities and networks such as Social Inclusion Partnerships. Liaise with voluntary groups and charities. Liaise with government departments such as Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) and government bodies such as Scottish Enterprise. CDOs usually work 37 hours a week, but there might be some visits to groups in the evenings or at weekends. Most councils offer flexible hours, sometimes by a part-time or job-sharing contract. An increasing number operate flexitime schemes. A CDO is based in an office, but may also spend a lot of time at meetings in community halls, day centres or perhaps in the homes of members of the local community. CDOs may dress casually when, for example, meeting local neighbourhood groups, but perhaps more formally for steering group meetings. The starting salary for a CDO is about £15, 000 a year.
We finally came home on Saturday with no issues. I drove the whole way back, we got along well. She started making arrangements with a friend to have transportation while her truck is in the shop. I told her I would help however I can, plus I'm not working so I'm super available. Pretty much immediately after she drops me off at my apartment I fall asleep from exhaustion. I wake up again at like 11:00pm and send her a goodnight text like we usually do, I get no answer. I figure the next day she's making up time with her kids but I still text in the evening asking what she's up to, I get no answer. Monday I text "Can I ask what's wrong" I also call a few times, no answer. By Tuesday I'm worried for her safety I text "Are u ok?? What's going on? ", no answer to this or calls. Today I get a text from her saying that the trip "opened her eyes" and she can't believe she had to pay for the trip, that I "don't care" about her truck and therefore she doesn't think this will work. There were no signs of trouble before this.
