The work of a detention deputy involves responsibility for the protection of life and property, and the safe housing of local, State, and Federal prisoners. Many of the prisoners housed in the Jefferson County jail have been sentenced to State & Federal prisons. Duties normally consist of intake, classification, housing, cell checks, and facilitating various programs. Detention deputies may also be assigned duties as court bailiffs and transport officers. Work involves an element of personal danger. The employee must be able to exercise sound independent judgment under stress and maintain a sufficient level of physical and mental fitness and preparedness. Contact Agency for full job description. Work schedules are comprised of 12-hour shifts with 4 day rotations. Applicants will be required to work any or all days of the week including weekends and holidays. Jail schedules alternate between both day and night shifts. Applicants must be at least 21, a U. S. Citizen, and meet other requirements associated with qualifying to work in law enforcement.
2021-2022 Calendar The Board of Trustees adopted Calendar Option B for the 2021-2022 school year. This calendar received the most votes from patrons, staff, and students. School will begin on Wednesday, August 25 and end on Friday, May 27, 2022. We would like to thank everyone that participated in voting for the school calendar. 2021-2021 Calendar Adopted February 10, 2021 Chinese and Spanish Immersion Enrollment Information The enrollment window for the 2021-2022 Chinese and Spanish Immersion applications will be open on Monday, February 1, through Sunday, March 28. During this window, new applicants must apply online using the District´s New Student/Returning Student enrollment link: This link will not be active until Monday, February 1, 2021. If we have more applicants than seats available, a selection process will be held the first part of April. At that time, parents will be notified if their child has either been accepted into the program or been placed on the waiting list.
